About Messy Art Day
Messy Art Day is a FREE community event, hosted annually in the spring at ECPC, where children 4 and under can explore colors, textures and a variety of media in a safe and fun environment. We offer 15+ awesome, wild, (and sometimes squishy) play stations in a limited entry, outdoor, spacious setting. Messy Art Day is all about the process of art, not the product, where kids are encouraged to immerse their entire bodies in materials, from paint to shaving cream, ice, oobleck, bubbles, waterbeads, and more.
Along Ashbury, between Moeser Lane and Waldo Avenue, we’ll have hands-on activity stations for kids ages 5-12 to play outside on the closed street, along with food trucks, temporary tattoos, tie-dye booth, and music.
Come experience the wonderful, messy, adventurous art-making that children do not get to do at home!
The event is completely FREE for all visitors and is entirely volunteer-staffed. This is ECPC’s way of giving back to the East Bay, saying thank you to the City of El Cerrito, and allowing every kid to be immersed in ECPC’s play-based education for one day,
