Bowl-A-Thon

November 17, 2015

We had our annual bowl-a-thon in the beginning of November. ECPC kids and their families turned out to Albany Bowl for a fun morning of bowling and school spirit.

This school tradition was a great opportunity for the kids to try out bowling, hang out with their ECPC friends, and reach out to their community to support their school. Plus, participants won prizes for their fundraising efforts. Thanks to everyone who made the bowl-a-thon happen!

CCR’s John Fogerty recalls ECPC

October 20, 2015

Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty recalls happy memories of growing up in El Cerrito in his new autobiography, according to the Contra Costa Times — including of our own El Cerrito Preschool Cooperative.

“My mother, Lucile, was a teacher at a nursery school about half a mile from our home, down a dirt road,” Fogerty writes. “I remember walking there a few times when I was 4 or 5 years old. By myself. That’s how innocent our town — El Cerrito, California — was then.” (The nursery school is El Cerrito Preschool Cooperative.)

–“El Cerrito a source of fond memories, Fogerty writes in autobiography,” Contra Costa Times, 10/14/2015

New Messy Art Day Video

September 22, 2015

ECPC is happy to release its latest video created by one of our own talented parents, Jeremy Troy. He has done an amazing job in capturing the spirit of Messy Art Day, what it means to the school and the larger community. The reaction of the kids is truly priceless! You can view the video on ECPC’s homepage.

We’ve also added a Galleries tab to our website where you can peruse through some of our favorite photos and videos highlighting our school.

ECPC at Solano Stroll

September 18, 2015

ECPC turned out in force for the Solano Stroll last weekend. A crowd of families paraded under the theme Purple Enchanted Garden, creating a sea of purple that showcased our wonderful community as well as ECPC’s artistic side.

A group of parents and kids came together ahead of time to create decorations based on our parade theme.

What a fun family weekend — thanks to everyone who made it happen!

ECPC Summer playdate

July 27, 2015

One of our newest Coop kids!
One of our newest Coop kids!

Thank you to all of the families who made it to the July 18th playdate. It was a beautiful day and new friends were made.

Our next summer playdate is being held on August 2 from 10am-12pm at ECPC.

All new families and returning families are welcome. This is a great casual way for the kids to get the feel for ECPC and a chance for parents to make connections.

Layers of paint reveal 75 years of co-op life

June 1, 2015

For nearly 75 years, the El Cerrito Preschool Cooperative has supported Bay Area children and families with play, learning and community. The layers of paint on our teachers’ chair are a testament to the generations of preschoolers (and parents!) who have grown on our grounds. For years, children have shared their news in this chair and been lifted in celebration on their birthdays, and parents and teachers have rested, taught and nurtured from it.
